Never Too Many Dog Photos

My mom dragged me to Petco last night to get Lucy another sweater. She says a dog can't have too many. I think she's getting a bit spoiled... sleeping in beds, wearing sweaters... what's next? I have to admit though... she's the biggest sweetheart.

More X-Mas Pics

Zach fascinated with his talking tool bench.

Checkout my cool boots!

Amanda finds something funny :o)

Santa Came Last Night

Priceless...Amanda walking down the stairs and seeing what Santa brought her.

"I'm a rockstar now!"

Zach inspecting his rocking horse.

Sissy got him an awesome drum and music set. He's going to be a drummer when he grows up.

Aunt Kimmie got him a "My First Lap Top." He moves some boxes around so he can sit and play with it in comfort.

First Scar

We spent the morning at the urgent care. Zach fell and got a big cut on his head. They had to put 4 staples in. He's acting like nothing happened... still diving off chairs and being a little dare devil. This will be the first of many trips to the doctor's I'm afraid.

Lucy's New Sweater

What can I say. Doesn't she look adorable! Rose crocheted this up for her yesterday. She's been freezing in this cold weather.

Another Storm

Another storm blew in last night. Woke up to over 6 inches of snow this morning. The boys are playing on the atvs and Rose and Athena are sledding and built a snowman. Zac and I are all cozy in the house watching Lazy Town and I'm trying to get some work done. Not enough for a snow day, Amanda still had to go to school. We really need to go to town today but I'm afraid to drive in this weather.

Here's the view out my office window. It's alot brighter outside, my camera makes it look really gray. It's still snowing quite a bit.

Zachary's Words

Zac has started talking a bit. Not all of the words are spoken clearly or correctly but he's trying. Here is a list of words to date.
  • Ball - We're considering this his first word. He uses it all the time, says it clearly and uses it correctly.
  • Hi & Bye - Always accompanied w/ a wave and smile.
  • Hello - He plays w/ the phone and says "Hello" over and over. Get him on a real phone call though and not a peep.
  • More - Doh! can't get those 'R's out. Hope he doesn't get that from me.
  • Sissy - He loves his sissy.
  • Mommy & Daddy - Better at the Daddy, then the Mommy.
  • Papa - This one doesn't sound much like it, he has his own twist to it.
  • Nose, Eye, Ear - And can show you where they all are.
  • Go - He tells Abby to "go"
  • Shoe - What can I say about a shoe.

We're working on some more and continuing the baby signs. He's getting good at combining signs together and gets really emphatic with some of them. He told me this morning that he wanted "more" "dogs" on the computer so we looked at some BadRap photos.

Real Snow

Grandma and Zac sledding down there hill. It's a beautiful sunny day today so most of the snow is melted now.

Zac has mixed reviews about snow and the cold. He can barely move in his snow suit.

The snow last night.

It started snowing around 8 last night.

My Son the Hustler

Zachary wouldn't leave the pool table alone so Grandma went and got him his own. Now he's hustling money from Daddy and Scott. Just look at that form. He shoots like a pro.

Scheduled Birth

Just got a call from my doctor and we got a date and time scheduled for "Junior's" birth.

Friday, January 20th, 2006 @ 7:30 am

Hopefully we can hold out that long. That's the first day of Aquarious. So no pizza that week :o) For those of you who don't know, it was a Skipolini's famous "Prego" pizza that sent me into labor with Zac less than 12 hours after eating it.

It's All About Me

Mandy just finished a big project all about her. She had to create an identity book for her writing class. I'm quite impressed with it. She didn't procrastinate and wait until the last minute...well, on most of it. We were still at Kinko's the Sunday afternoon before it was due getting it bound. At least all the writing was done well before hand.

Thanks Grandma for helping out and writing her Biography. Thanks to Kinko's for being open on Sunday. Thanks to Michaels for stocking lots of pink scrapbooking paper. Thanks to Papa for letting us use the computer every night.

Good job Amanda! Keep it up.

Eric the UPS Man!

Eric got a seasonal job driving for UPS. He finished up his training last week and should start driving next week. I guess it's a great company to work for. We could only be so lucky for him to get hired on permanently.

We're told it's almost impossible to get a full time driving job there. They keep track of all hires and the first 6 are promotions from within (you usually have to be a packer for 5 or 6 years), the 7th is a transfer and the 8th is an outside hire, then the cycle starts over again. So they'd have to have an opening after the holidays and it would have to be that 8th spot...and there are 5 other temp workers fighting for it also. What are the chances? I think I'll go play the lotto tonight instead.

I'm encouraging him to take a packing position. I guess they work only 4 hours a day and get full benefits. That would be nice to have. COBRA is ridiculous. And, it would get him in the door to be driver down the line.

Rain, Snow, Sun

It's been raining for the past few days. Was starting to get tired of the gray clouds. Then last night we got a light dusting of snow.

Our first snow!! We didn't actually get to see it snowing but when Eric took Mandy to the bus this morning you could see it on the car, roof, and spots in the field. It was pretty much gone by the time I woke up. You can see it in the foothills in the distance in the photo above. The mountains out the front of the house are all covered. We could see them testing the snowlift lights the other night...pretty neat.

Today it's sunny and chilly with some big poofy clouds. Without the solid cloud cover it's supposed to get down to 24 degrees tonight....burrrrr.... send hats and scarves for Christmas. I'm going to get a cup of cocoa.

Arggg...there be scurvy PIRATES in Idaho!

It's that scurvy Pirate Zach, with his monkey on his back. Better watch out or he'll make ya walk the plank.

Captain Jack Sparrow and his first mate Pirate Zach looted and pillaged Boise on All Hallows Eve.

Baby Signs

Aunt Debbie will be proud...Zach is learning all sorts of baby signs. Thanks for the book Debbie! As of today, he can do and understand the following:

More/I want
Drink
Eat/Food
All done/All gone
Thank you
Poop
Blue's Clues
I don't know

I also think he's starting to make up his own. He comes up with some weird hand gestures. We're starting to make some up also. We're working on chicken, broken, blanket, and others.

Harley Zac

Thank you Grandpa Charlie for the cool overalls. A little big but Mommy just rolled them up for me.

I'm stuck in this basket and can't get out ... and all Mom wants is a picture of it.

"Baby Boy" Capps

The newest member of our family will be joining us before we know it. "Baby Boy" Capps is due on January 24th. It looks like we might be scheduling a c-section for Jan 21 if I don't go into labor before than.

He's kicking all the time now. According to BabyCenter.com he's about 13 inches long and 2 lbs. I feel huge, I look huge, I can't believe I still have 3 more months.

As you can tell, we still haven't come up with a name. We have plenty of girls names just in case we're surprised...AGAIN...but we're still struggling on boys names. Any suggestions?

Chickens are FINALLY in their home

The chickens are now outside in their coop. They seem to be doing well. I know I'm much happier with them out of the guest bedroom.

BOO!

Zach and I just got done playing peek-a-boo. Eric and I usually hide and jump out at him. He's now hiding from me and saying "boo." He thinks it's just a riot when I act scared. I think he actually fell over laughing.

More Please

Zach asking for "more" cereal with baby signs. So far he can just do "more" and "blues clues." Working on food, drink, and potty. No success so far.

Zach's First Hair Cut

"Oh goodness, what is she doing to my hair."

"Oh, I don't know if I like this..."

"I like to part my hair on this side"

"Don't I look handsome!"

Amanda's Cut

We all went and got hair cuts last night. Amanda cut her hair even with her bangs. She looks even older now!! It looks like I didn't get a finished version, doh! I'll have to take one when she gets home from school.

Giddy Up

Abby is such a good girl. I don't usually let Zach do this but I just had to get a photo of it before I removed him.

Idaho Sunset

I love the sky up here and the beautiful sunsets.

Zach the Man

Zachary sitting on his cow chair watching Napolean Dynamite. I bet half CafePress ND sales were in Idaho...I've lost count of the Vote for Pedro t-shirts I've seen picking Mandy up from school.

The Pen

Eric and Jack worked hard to get our pen setup. The chickens will go out there in a couple of weeks and then we'll get some sheep and goats in the spring.

Good Dogs

Good dogs! They love it here. They get to run around and dig for badgers, gophers and ground squirrels. Lucy is the only one to catch anything.

My View

This is the view out of my office window. We have acres of BLM open space behind our house. There are atv and horse trails.

The Chics

The Chickens are getting BIG! They will go outside in 2 more weeks.

First Post

Welcome to our blog. I will try to keep this updated. Zach is growing and learning new things everyday so I should have plenty to write about. Anyhow, enjoy!
